Another part of me: My family 

First, I would like to start by describing what I think a family is. the family is a very important aspect in the lives of all of us. We all have different definitions of this, but from what I have been seeing, we agree on a particular thing: a family is a group of people that have a union, maybe blood or maybe you can consider your friends or other people your family. Also, for me, the family is the people who care about you and love you no matter what. In Colombia, we have different types of families. The most common ones are Nuclear, single-parent, complex and extended. I think it is important to say that even if these types or families are the most common ones, in the whole world we have other types of families and even if your family doesn't fit in a particular category, it is your family and it is the only thing that matters.

I belong to a nuclear family. My mom, dad and I live together in the same house. Both my mom and dad are the breadwinners. Regarding my extended family, my dad's side family consists of two siblings but I don't have a relationship with them. Sixteen aunts and uncles, most of whom have two or more children, and my cousins already have a family (with children). Even some of them have grandchildren. My mom's side family is not too big. I only have one uncle (Alejandro), he has a child (Angel). Angel lives right now in the U.S. I call my grandparents´s siblings uncles and aunts, only the ones from my mom's side. All of my family is catholic and one of my dad´s sisters was a nun. I'm closer to my family from my mom's side. I love all of my family. We have in common that all of us are very happy and responsible people and we are also a united family. We have a great sense of humor. One of my favorite people in the family is my aunt Vilma and Juliana is a particular friend who is like a sister to me. We have been friends for about 13 years. My mom´s family considers her part of the family too. She even calls my grandfather “grandpa” and some of my uncles and aunts “uncle” and “aunt”. So i´m going to talk about her when I describe my family members. First, let me start with my dad, his name is Gabriel. He's the kindest person I would ever meet, he has brown eyes and brown hair. He's not very tall, we have a similar sense of humor. He and I love animals. He's the best dad. I consider him as my hero because he is there every time I need someone, and he is very empathetic and doesn't judge you when you do something that isn't good. He's a very hard worker, responsible and kind person. I have a joke with my mom about him being Barbie, because we think there isn´t a thing he couldn't do. He is a builder right now but he has had many jobs.

My mom's name is Filomena. She is the most amazing woman I've ever known, she always cares about others, and helps them when they need it (I think she is similar to my grandmother), she is a very religious person. Regarding the way she looks she has green eyes and wavy and brown hair. She's shorter than my dad and I. She is a great cook and a housewife. As for her personality, She has a strong temperament, is responsible, resilient and kind. She is the strongest person I know.

My grandfather's name is Hector. He lives in a town called Sevilla. He is very funny, extroverted and kind. He works on the farm as a coffee picker. He has white hair and dense eyebrows. He is as tall as me, and he is very slim. He's a gentleman.

My aunt Vilma is a very kind person, very happy and extroverted. She used to live with us but in 2020 she went to live in Prado. She has short brown hair, blue eyes. She is shorter than me, but is as short as my mom. She is a very important person in my life and she is a very good cook, and I love visiting her. She is very kind and strong, she has experienced so many bad things but that has not stopped her.

My chosen sister´s name is Juliana, we have been friends since kindergarten. She is important to me and my family, we have lived together with lots of good and bad things, we grew up together and I learn something from her every day. She is shorter than me. She has dark brown curly hair. She is very funny, responsible and kind. We have the same musical tastes, but she really likes soccer, and I don't like it. We do everything together. She comes to our family lunches and reunions. I went with her to get her identification card. We do different activities together, for example, we went to a concert last year, and next year we are going to another one. We also go to the gym together. Next year she will study law at the university. I guess we are destined to stay together. She is important to me and my family, we have lived together lots of good and bad things, we grew up together and I learn something from her every day.

These four people are important to me, they are my family. They have been there for me every time

I need them and there's anything I wouldn't do for them. I love them so much.

In brief, my family is one of the most important aspects of my life, and for me, the family is not just

a blood union. Your pets and friends can be part of your family too. You are in the right to cut toxic

people in your life and create another family if you want. I hope you like this short text about my
